
Dan Stevenson discusses the vet's role in regenerative agriculture at the Green Farm Conference
At this year's Green Farm Collective Conference, farm animal vet Dan Stevenson gave a talk on how important vets are in moving towards regenerative agriculture.
Dan Stevenson, who has extensive experience with cattle and sheep, emphasised the need to rethink old veterinary approaches. He particularly focused on how we see and treat diseases.

Shifting to regenerative farming: Dan Stevenson spoke about the need for a supportive team and the right advisors when transitioning to regenerative farming. He emphasised keeping detailed records, engaging the farm team, staying in touch with business partners, tapping into the regenerative farming community, and choosing the right advisors.
Nutrition's importance: Dan Stevenson highlighted that good nutrition is key to farm health and output. He pointed out that addressing nutrition can solve many farm challenges. He also mentioned the ongoing need for supplements in regenerative farming and the value of related research.
Biosecurity for cattle: Mr Stevenson talked about the critical role of biosecurity, from understanding diseases to making gradual farm improvements and regularly checking progress. He also stressed the value of community collaboration in this area.
